Depends on what they changed to put the 964 bumpers on. Pics with the bumpers removed are necessary.

I am considering buying a car that has 964 bumpers. I would want to make it OEM again. Car is in east coast and I am in San Diego.
trying to get educated on what to look for, if the car can be put back to its original state. Thanks |

The simple answer is YES........The hard part is knowing what was done prior so as to get back to original. Parts can be looked up, paint can be estimated BUT labor cannot be known at this time.

This is incredibly simple, and inexpensive (relatively).
Buy a West Coast Carrera that still has the original bumpers. Drive it. |

Hi, I agree that it depends what has been done to mount the bumpers. You need to get a look behind the bumpers to get a feel for the work. The front should be a relatively straight up fit with a custom centre bracket. The unknown is how they might have mounted an inner reinforced bumper. The back might have custom heat shields, filler panels bumper mounts. If they have used bolts then it is easy. Welded bits might be a bigger problem. Rust is also an issue as the new bits might be drilled into the bodywork or untreated steel.

Hi, it also goes beyond bumpers. You need to consider the exhaust, rear lights , rear reflector and heat shields/mounting panels. This assumes OEM 964 bumpers. If they are copies then the mounts could be different again.
