Turbo to ST Flairs. Any photos?
I know Magnus had Turbo flairs re profiled to ST flairs on one of his cars. Has anyone else done that, or had it done. Would love to see some photos please.
Any recommendations as to where I would have this done in the North/East. Thanks in advance. Rich

I've done it with reasonable success. However I think you can't capture all the subtilties of the fronts. The STs have a very defined line where the flare blends to the main shape of the fender and 930s have a nice radius blending the two. The ST fronts are also quite flat, almost as if you rolled a piece sheet into a cone and welded it to the main fender, then softened the shoulders out at the wheel openings. The rears, on the other hand, can be made into very nice ST replicas because they are essentially narrower 930s - the ST came first, of course. I personally think mod'g 930 fronts look better than truly coorect STs because, architecturally, they're the the same.I'd raise my hand and offer to do the work for you but I'm on the left coast!

You could use the front turbo flares on the rear - just flip the L and R backwards. They are not exactly the same as ST flares but they are about 1" narrower than turbo flares and 1" wider than rs flares. For the front your on your own.

A true ST or RSR flares tend to have an oblonged wheel arch profile. Its not rounded like the turbo. Also the tops of the flares are alot more rounded.
![]() You can see in the pic the orig fender lip profile under the 9 inch RSR/ST fender. |
