911SC Outside Mirror Mounting Question
 

Does anyone know how the mirrors on the 911SC model rage are mounted? I have these mirrors and I can not seem to wrap my head around how they attach to the door.

You are missing a part. The two protrusions on the left of your first picture fit into holes in the door. A screw is placed in the hole on the right and threaded into the missing part. When tightened, the part is pulled up tight to the inside of the door, wedging the mirror in place.

What Javadog said. A backing plate is pop-riveted inside the door skin and receives the tabs and mounting screw from the mirror. The thread below discuss this and includes a photo of the plate (a bit hard to see but it's laying on top of the hood)
