FWIW 88 Carrera Cab For sale in Co Spgs.

Hi All,

I was in Colorado Springs for Thanksgiving and stopped by the Porsche dealership and they have an '88 Cab there for just under $30K. The odometer is broken so no idea on the actual mileage. They said they spent $5K on it getting rid of oil leaks and such, and it did look dry under the car, but the battery was completely dead. They jumped it and it did fire right up. I couldn't drive it as it was way blocked in and I wasn't interested for that price. The condition is good. It is silver with a blue interior and cream seats. It appears to have several options (heated seats, cruse, etc...), but a re-paint in its history removed the option sticker under the hood. Oh, it has a brand new navy top. Pretty original (both good and bad), even has the air pump.

Just thought I would mention it is anyone in the area is looking... I can give more of my impressions if anyone is interested.

Franny

For 30K it should be nearly perfect: complete records, under 80K miles or a documented top end rebuild, and a new clutch. A broken odo and a repaint doesn't sound promising.

A re-spray makes me nervous as you never know what is being hidden under the fresh coat of paint. I'd poke around with an icepick or something as I bet there is rust somewhere. Doesn't CO salt the roads? Just my two cents for anyone interested.

They spent $5K and didn't bother to fix the odometer? Sounds shady.

Hmmm makes me wonder... how many low mileage cars are there that simply have had the odometer broken for years and years, and just got fixed right before selling them?

And also make me question, do any of the states annual inspection check the odometer, at least to see that it's not 'identical' to the previous year?
