That kills me! If I am reading it correctly the radio upgrade cost more than the limited slip!!

Well, I can not tell you exactly what your car cost, but a bit of info anyways. I was selling new Porsches at the time and there were several price increases during the '86 model year alone. Most dramatic rise was the 911 turbo which went from a base price of $49,000 to approx. $61,000 from begining to end of '86 M.Y.!! For the exact same(86) car!

The 1985 invoice that Kurt posted would definitely be on the high side for an '85 coupe, w/ full leather, ltd. slip, etc. Most would have been around $36k.

For an '87 targa w/ almost everything, (including full leather, not partial, ltd. slip, etc.), depending on time of year, (M.Y. run), could have been as much as $45k+. You have to realize that Porsche had an option list as long as your arm, and the options weren't cheap.

For my '84 Targa:

Base price: $33,450
All leather interior $1000
Grand Prix white wheel centers $205
16 inch wheels $1580
Sports seats $250
Automatic heating control $485
Spoilers front and rear $1325
"Heatable" windshield $280
Option Group E12 (raised hub, Monterey radio, cruise, sport shocks, alarm) $1340

Total cost in 1984 was $40,265.

Comparing that to my 1984 brochure, that's every factory option available except limited slip.
