993 GT2 conversion : need your help

Hi all

One of my friend is thinking of modifying his 993 C2 to GT2.

When calling one supplier of the bodykit (D Moris in France), he got a strange reply : you need first to install the rs/turbo back flares to be able to install the GT2 extension flares...

So my question is if anybody has experience with this conversion and if he needed to first modify the back flares to wider model prior the GT2 extension installation

Also if you are aware of any supplier who has the bodykit for "standard flares"

Thanks in advance for your help ;)

993 GT2 was based on the wide body 993S/turbo, so apparently was the body kit in question, the 993S/turbo has quarters that are ~1" wider on each side than a 993 n/b.

The 993 RSR on the other hand was based on the 993 n/b had has flares that are similar in appearance to the 993GT2 bolt on flares so perhaps that would be what to look for.

Hi Bill

Ok for the wider flares but we thought that as we have to cut it anyway to install the GT2 extensions, to have normal or wide flares was not important as it's cuted...

You only cut less than 15 or so cm around the wheel edge, the base fender is still there
here are the oe rear flare part #s
993RSR based on a n/b 993
993.504.399.30 & .40

993GT2 based on the w/b 993turbo/S
993.504.319(&20).80
