DME relay testing / repair?

Does anyone now of a testing / repair preceedure for the DME relay,

I know should just replace with my 'spare', but dont yet have one and its now saturday night, with luck i will be able to get one by mail order Thursday.

Problem is my 87 has died on me and now refuses to start, I have spark and have isolated (i hope) the problem to lack of power to the fuel pump.

Have tested with engine turning on starter but still no voltage.

have observed DME relay, first click with ignition, second when starter spins engine. Still no volts at fuel pump.

Pump runs fine when jump fuses.

i need to figure out if it is relay and wait to Thurday, or if i need to continue my diagnosis?

Any help you guys can give will be greatly appreciated!!!!

I assume you don't have a Bentley manual!

... or you wouldn't have posted the question ...

Here is a page with the internal wiring of the relay ...

Mike--a minor suggestion--you might want to list your location below your name. The first thing I thought of was letting you borrow a DME relay if you were within reasonable driving distance. I'm sure others had the same thought and many of us carry a spare.
Aside from checking the fuse and assuring a good ground, it looks like the relay must be the culprit. Good luck.

Thanks guys, excellent info, afraid no Bentley available over here in UK .

Will test relay on bench and will report back results.

Car will be off road for few days anyway, as am taking oppertunity to replace severely corroded fuel line fitting's around fuel pump, was shocked at their condition!!

relay seams to be working fine on bench, could the oxygen sensor be grounding out circuit and thus take all power from fuel pump?

anyone come across this before?
