Any experience with Fulda tires?

My '74 Carrera has old Pirelli P6 185/70 and 215/60 x 15 tires which are due for replacement (age not wear - car only has 25,000 miles on it). Tire dealer tells me that 185/70s are virtually unobtainable except in Fulda Y-2000, with rears to match. Does anyone have any experience with these? Or any other suggestions for tires (wish to keep the car as stock as possible, by the way, so no ultra-low profiles or suggestions babout going up to 16in rims!).

I had Fuldas on my Corvair in the 70's. I loved them. They were great in the dry but a little scarey in the wet.

"A little scary in the wet"-I can definitely confirm that.
I would change to 195/65/15. Only a minor difference in appearance, but much better tyre technology and widely available.
Approved by Porsche as well for 6" and 7" rims.

Michelin France also produces 185/70/15, but they are awfully expensive and have a pretty old-fashioned thread layout-only for show cars.

Yes, just got of the 'phone to my tire dealer who came up with the same suggestion after checking with Porsche. Seems like Pirelli P6000 N1 ZR's in 195/65 will be the way to go at the front, with matching 215/60s at rear.

Here's the car - 1974 European 210bhp 2.7 Carrera. same engine/drivetrain as Carrera RS but for less than half the price!
