here is picture my buddy at the local body shop sent me. it got me thinking, since i'm considering stripping painting my 86 targa. wouldn't that be an eye catcher. certainly not for the porsche purist. i'm gonna look into it, what do you think has anyone seen a 911 like this"

Nope. And not sure if I want to
But I did see this on a recent trip to Hong Kong:

Pic doesn't really do it justice.
It was like diamond coated.
Real nice.

check with the 5-0 as I know it illegal in most states. IMO its gross, spend the money on teeth grills if you want to be flossy

I've seen a photo somewhere on Pelican of a chrome (or polished) early car.

If you want chrome get an Airstream!
OK, OK... they are not chrome, just polished aluminum...

First of all - its a vinyl wrap
Second - its hedious and extremely classless

Don't do it. Just my opinion

if youre planning on selling it go for it. Some basketball player or drug dealer will buy it for a 100K

I was watching a West Coast Customs program on TV a year or so ago and they had a chrome paint applied to a car, a Bentley I believe. It is done by a company that travels around the country on contract. It was a two part process where clear liquid was sprayed on the car followed immediately by a second spray of another clear liquid and a chemical action took place and produced a chrome finish. The car was dried overnight in a controlled atmosphere and then clear coated. It was stunning.

I think it was West Coast Customs who chromed an R8 for Monster Cable. Truly ugly outcome. If you really have the urge for a chrome car go buy a Civic with a fart can exhaust and neon lighting in the wheel wells…..But please do not chrome a 911.

Alsa Corp. makes the Chrome FX paint.

It's a 3 stage coating. Basic kit is $3,000.00.

They also make Spectra Chrome as posted earlier and Mira Chrome paints. Around $1k per gallon.
