M&K Muffler Strap 1985 Carrera

I just purchased a used M&K muffler for my 1985. Does anyone know if I can I reuse the stock muffler straps and bolts or do I have to purchase the M&K strap kit?
Thanks!

I was replacing an M&k on an 88 and even trimmimg the factory support could get only one on properly.

The short stock strap worked on my 3.2. I received 2 straps with my 1/1 Carrera muffler but could only get 1 to work so I used the short stock strap as a second. Since my rebuild I have gone with 1 strap without issue.

Thank you for the answers!

Probably a long shot, but of course I'll try anyway.
What are the lengths of t-bolt straps I would need for the M&K 1/1 ?

I believe the short stock strap is 22" and it fit fine.

Same problem with my M&K and Dansk.

I end up putting a piece of pipe (at the top) against the muffler to take the slack out.

I have M&K mufflers on my 911SC and my 914/6 GT and on both I'm using stainless steel band clamps from a hardware store. Using two per. No problems with this setup for over 5 years now.

After some searching looks like M&K is using standard T-bolt straps from McMaster.

Maybe I should go that route and order some before my muffler arrives.
I sent an email to M&K to get the diameters and part numbers of the T-bolt clamps. Unless someone here would happen to know?

For future reference:

M&K replied:

The Carrera single inlet uses a 6.25" (compressed) strap on the driver's side and a 6.75" (compressed) strap on the passenger's side.
