They look like they should work in sugar scoops or under glass in SWB cars. Pretty expensive for 7" drop-in lights, though.

It'd probably be a nice retrofit, and it'll make your car look more modern.

Read the reviews on Amazon. Seems to be either love or serious dislike. Lots of love from Jeep Wrangler owners, but those rigs still came with sealed beams until just a few years ago. I suspect the 5 star ratings are largely from people who have never owned decent headlights before - if all they can compare to is sealed beam, these probably look pretty good.

But if you are simply going to use 7" drop-in lights, good Hella H4s are probably better lights at a fraction of the cost.

The stock H5 lights in my 88 911 are not much better than sealed beams. And, I also have a 99 Wrangler that I need to upgrade the headlights on too.

I hear you on the H5s. The LEDs might be a decent output upgrade in that case. But since to do that you'd not only have the expense of the two LED assemblies as well as a pair of sugar scoops in which to mount them, you are already at or above the cost of euro H4 replacements.

In the Jeep, I'd personally stick a pair of Hellas in.

Yeah. They will work. I've seen them on a Porsche before. They are a little pricey, but I happen to be a Master Warehouse Distributor for Truck-Lite. I sell heavy duty truck parts and they are one of my vendors. I'll PM you the price tomorrow

How about these on eBay........#221404110477

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-Truck-1800LM-50W-Cree-LED-HeadLight-H7-Head-lamp-White-6000K-

They are for H5 Headlights so won't they fit a 87-89 911 version or even the 996 & Boxster?

About $75 for the two lamps. Anyone try these yet?

Len

thanks for the link to that thread. Really looking, though, for the headlights that come with the Singer, without having to rob a very big bank to get the car

There is another thread that discussed making "projector" lights as in the Singer.

Do a search, I don't have it saved to refer back to.

They showed a night time comparison that really looked impressive.
