Throttle Position Sensor on early Weber or PMO

Anyone rigged a TPS onto an early Weber or a PMO. I'm trying to find a way to provide throttle position to an air/fuel ratio data logger.

Jim,
Haven't done this, but the engine compartment is a pretty tight fit.

Maybe consider the throttle pivot link on the gearbox. There might be room to fashion some brackets and, if necessary, a gearbox to transfer motion to a TPS shaft.

Many thanks.

moneymanager...What carbs are you running?

I've seen the kit mentioned in this thread and it appears to be available from a number of sources online. However, I can't figure out how it would attach to my Webers (which are IDA40 3C/3C1). Did you follow through and purchase one, and have you installed it?
If yes, would you mind posting a few pictures that show how the TPS housing is attached to the carb housing, with some detail to show how it is actuated?

My carbs do not appear to have any holes or features in the casting near where the TPS body would need to mount, nor does the shaft that actuates the throttle plates appear long enough to add any of the pieces needed to connect the rotating shaft on the carbs to the rotary shaft that comes out of the TPS.

Thanks,
2bewild

I'm using a very basic rotary TPS on my 912 with my Innovate LM2. I picked up a cheep TPS on Amazon and attached it to the throttle shaft of my Dellorto carbs with a real short piece of fuel line clamped onto it. I then tied off the TPS with some wire ties and it works great for getting the signal. I't not meant to be permanent just as a tuning solution and a data point.

2bewild, never did it. Other priorities. I have PMO's. But if you figure this out, let us know. I will probably consider this again! Jim

Is it a requirement that the TPS be attached to the throttle shaft? That location is obvious. However, if there are space constraints, why not mount it elsewhere? As long as the TPS-to-throttle shaft rotation ratio is 1 to 1, the ECU shouldn't care. The critical spec is the length of the lever arm that actuates the throttle shaft.
