Rim Cleaning Help
 

On the driver side only on my beast, both rims have what looks like water spots (large ones small ones) that will not come off. Tried Mothers polishing compound and about eveything else I could think of. Any ideas on how to get this crap off?

Here is a picture of that spotting I am talkin about:

You might want to search the archives (search on Fuchs, and beware of some mis-information floating around), but Vaseline seems to be the recommended treatment for anodized rims...KC

vaseline (no kidding) - do a search. recommended in the owners manual as well.

I saw all those posts too. Thought those posts were for
fuchs (just about misspelled that) not rims. Probably misread it. So I went and put vasoline on 1 tire (rim and fuchs for test) and will let it sit a while. Just seems to kind of hind those water spots for now.

To me it looks like there is some sort of varnish applied over the rims. Maybe some type of corrosive got splashed onto my driverside only and produced that spotting.

Sure a lot of fun information here. Glad I came accross this BBS.

Guess this vasoline won't protect against road-rash (haha).
