Heat exchanger question.

When we talk about large and small flanged heat exchangers....are we talking about the headers and where they bolt onto the heads? ..Or are we talking about the flanges that attach to the heater hoses? Sorry for the stupid question
but I need to know.

Thanks,

Gary

Thin or Thick refers to the flange that bolt to the head.

How do you know if you need thin or thick flanges? I have 83 SC.

The US 83 has inserts into the head on the exchanger, this will be thick flanged. USA cars 80 to 83 are thick flange.
