Thumbs down Fisted Hard...

Bad news this weekend and a setback on my 911 project. My 77 Ford F250 was stolen this week, and ran off of a nearby 500 foot cliff into an irrigation canal.
It was loaded up with the bumpers and right front fender from the 911 ready to go to the sand blast shop. I did get the front and one rear bumper back, but the front fender and other rear bumper are toast. Of course the truck is toast also, but I won't see it for another month - it's upside down in 9 feet of 2200CFS water. No idea who did it - some neighbor hood kids I suppose. The loss of the fender cuts into my ability to buy all of the other parts I need to complete this project as soon as I would like. Sucks.
Anyway, perhaps if anyone comes across a right front fender for a 1973 911T you could let me know.
Until I find this piece, I cannot paint the car. Until I paint the car, I cannot put it back together again.

I hope everyone else had a better weekend than me!

ARRRRGHHH!!!!

Billy

It would have been tough to have had a worse weekend than you have had. If your favorite local bar gives credit for sob story originality points, you should be drinking for free for a while.

I'll keep an eye out for you out here.

Best,

JP

Wow... now Idaho has TWO members!

I'm in Mtn Home, so just let me know if you need any help with the project.
Welcome aboard, and man, I'm sorry to hear about your bad luck.
I know *all* about setbacks . I feel your pain.

Keep the faith,

Lee

Man........

Reading this is really depressing. I wish extending my condolences would help in some way, but in reality all I can do is lend my support for a quick $$$ recovery, Insurance possibly?

Not to be a smart a$$ but this story strikes me as a possible new verse to some George Thorogood song........

Make it clear to the insurance Co. that this stuff was in the truck and that you need to be compensated. My classic car insurance covers the parts of my car even if they are not on the car at the time. Check both policies you may be covered!!

That suck hard! I can't stand theives!

Be sure to check all your insurance policies. Your auto policy may cover contents, and well as your homeowners policy. It's worth a shot.

Yeah, but it's shaped a little differently!

Thanks for the kind thoughts. Yes, it is sort of a "Dukes of Hazzard" story.

Hello Leland! Hey I am a US Army NBC Guru.

If you want to see where the Ford got launched, it's right at diversion dam off of HWY 21. 200 yards downstream from the dam, then look south, then up. If it had not been for the fact that the truck had no tailgate to accomadate my camper, I never would have gotten any 911 parts back - they all dumped out the back as the punks rodded the rig.

The fire dept. sent a scuba/rescue team to survey for bodies - no luck.

I have a couple of leads on a fender.

No leads on the perps, but called the Junior and High school resource officers today, and they were both interested in helping, so we will see what happens.

Homeowners insurance won't cover the auto parts, and the truck had liability only on it. Havn't insured the 911 yet - bought it Aug 11th, and it is totally in pieces now getting ready for paint.

Oh well! Onward....

Enough of that, lets get back to some technical stuff!
