Orville was wrong
Ever since I've been a young child, I've wanted a Porsche and this last year, I finally had enough income to buy one. I really started getting Porsche fever about this time last year and finally found my car a few months ago. Right before I bought the car, I was Porsche crazy. My dad thought it was funny, and he quoted me a line from Orville Wright. Orville said that the happiest days of his life were when he used to sit in bed and dream of flying - when he actually got to do it, the experience paled in comparision to his dreams.
Well, I proved ol' Orville wrong tonight. Got my issue of 911 & PWorld and after reading it, I got that itch. You know what I'm talking about - that itch you get at about 2:00 pm in your cubicle after you read someone's driving tale on this board. Well, I went and satisfied my itch, and I gotta tell you, the experience is much better than I had ever dreamed. I love driving along the Interstate in 5th gear, having some chucklehead get ansy and decide to take on the Porsche, dropping it into 4th and blowing by him. (I got to live that fun experience twice tonight). I love taking turns twice as fast as some Corvette who's decided to race. I love the looks the car gets. I guess I just love the car. I gotta tell you, even though they're expensive cars, they're cheap therapy - I don't know how you could drive one without a smile on your face ![]()

Dream analysts will tell you dreams about flying are sexual dreams, so maybe Orville prefered sexual fanatises to flying his plane

Hey Steve--glad to hear you are enjoying your car! Found any good roads around Omaha to drive on? I usually head out west and cruise around Elkhorn/Valley/Blair and Fremont. Lots of open space out there to let the old girl breathe. The dog loves to cruise with the top off too! She's not too impressed with the sound and speed of my new 3.6L though.
