Anderson Illustration
I ordered an illustration of my car from Steve Anderson (illustrator for Excellence magazine) a few weeks back and it finally arrived. It is everything I expected. The detail is incredible. He even managed the 72-73 CanAm decal on the rear window! It's too large to stick in the scanner so I took this snapshot. -- Curt

Steve does a good job, but he's not very well known. We were going to be setup to sell some of his smaller prints, but he flaked out on us last year for some reason, or the ball got dropped. This is a good reminder, I'll have to contact him again...

He's really got a way of capturing the Porsche 'look' - whatever that is! As an aside, he once owned the red 69S Softwindow Targa with the red/houndstooth factory seats featured in Paternie's book. -- Curt

cegerer,
How did you go about getting this done? Did he do it from a picture? What was the (approx) cost? Thanks -Brad 80SC |

Very nice rendition. I also had Steve do a drawing of my 911 as well, back in '99. As expected it arrived in perfect condition and was awesome to look at. Incredible detail with alot of remarks around the boarder highliting the special details of the car.
But since my 911 is very red, as in 'Ferrarri Red' to be exact, unfortunately overtime the color has faded away from the drawing resulting in an appearance of a red 911 that is highly oxidized and in need of a complete buffout and waxing. This bums me out as I was aware of the red possibly bleaching away over time and have very diliberately hung it away from windows and direct sunlight, seemingly in the darkest corner of a room. The rest of the drawing is in perfect shape. It looks kinda funny since the rest of the drawing is still quite bold looking....then you see what used to be red.......... Thank god it's only the picture that's bleached out...my 911 is actually too red !!!

Brad, he's actually got a form to fill out where you can include all the little details of your specific car, even windows up or down, etc. Not sure if he needs a photo - I just gave him my website address for reference. You can also put whatever you want as far as text under the car. It's $225 unframed for a 13"x19". $325 Matted and framed. Contact Steve at designsa@earthlink.net -- Curt
P.S. I'm going to try to scan the illustration somehow, because the photo doesn't do it justice. Last edited by cegerer; 08-28-2002 at 08:23 AM.. |
