@$(%&#* rats !!!!!!

My 75 Targa, with a 3.2 conversion, had been sitting for several months, 'cause I was to lazy to wire up a starter button to my ignition switch that very randomly decides NOT to work ……So I do the 'ol arch big red to little yellow fellow on the starter to get her going so I can move her to a better location (read, in the garage from the carport…) I look into the engine bay and notice that there is a 3 inch circle of sound padding chewed away back by the left shock tower and…the big crossover wire loom shield has been chewed on too, several wires missing insulation in a 'corn on the cob' sort of way. Then I know some damned rats, or mice, have gotten in there, Damn x3. That's what I get for letting her sit (I live in the mountains, LOTS of 'wildlife' here about). So I fix up the wiring issue and take her out for a drive. Running 220 - 230….that's not like her, what's up ???? Oh crap, I bet they climbed through the fan to build a nest under the shroud….so I look through the fan with a light, don't see anything, but you can only see the left side through the fan. Then I grab my (great tool) flexible remote LCD inspection camera and poke the camera hose through the right side of the fan shroud, and DAMN…looks like the forest floor. No wonder she was running hot, no air could get to #4-5-6. Soooooo
Of with the fan, and clear out the nest….appx 1 cubic foot of leaves, straw, and, of course, that missing sound pad material for that soft, comfy nest….
LESSON LEARNED….(the hard way)
took her back out and 185-190….that a girl

I am fortunate to leave in an area with lots of outdoor cats and have never had an issue with rodents.
I feel your pain as when I got my car from the Northeast it came with acorns in the frunk and smuggler box... Lots of acorns...!
