"You've got to have them if you want to hang"...

Here is the 'cage' for the Ford Focus. It looks like it is much more likely to hurt you in an accident than save you - particularly if not combined with a proper harness. And to think that car companies send fortures developing soft collapsable interiors!!! Thanks for the laugh!! ------------------ Marcus '73 S Targa |
It would scare me to ride in one of those cars, and I don't scare easy.

Looks like their "closet organizer" fell out of the box on the way from Home Depot.

They look like something out of a roller coaster ride

Sheesssh. This takes rice to a new level.
At least they call them "styling bars", not rollbars. Probably to avoid liability when they fail to protect the occupants. |
These guys are gonna make a fortune and then go out and buy Porsches...

What? No application for P-Cars???

They look like those disable access grab bars to me.

Wow.

You know what it looked like the first time I saw it?
One of those kids' toys that are made of colored wire bent into complicated shapes with wooden beads that have holes drilled through so the kids can slide them around. |
|
Looks like PVC pipe to me.

You guys are missing the point altogether.
In these Japanese rice'o'matic circles, a lot of money is invested in expensive audio (and sometime visual)equipment. The monkey bars are not designed to save lives (the original subframe of a Honda Civic has higher tensil strength than the hull of the Kursk) The monkey bars have actually been designed to protect the upholstery, gauges and sub-woofer assemblies that are necessary for the racing circuit. God forbid, in case of a rollover during a street race that your equipment get crushed. http://www.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat5.gif |
Well, I can tell you that those huge tachometers these guys atach to their front posts do not help them much. Most of the cars I out-pull at traffic lights have them. I suspect they are not helpful in the corners either.

They should probably put the big-honkin tach on the passenger side pillar to counterbalance the weight of the driver. Tom ------------------ 82 911SC Coupe |

Is Ontario, Canada the ricer capital of the world? The ricer movement is not that big here in Michigan, so when I was vacationing in Ontario recently the ricers really caught my eye. I literally broke out in laughter when I saw some of the same type of cars driving alongside me as are often pictured on this forum. They are absolutely hilarious. -- Curt

What, no stickers? I'd thought with all of that extra added weight one would need to compensate for the loss in HP with at least a handful of stickers. http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif -Wade '88 930 Slant-coupe |
Busy beads! LOL! Priceless!
I want one with a big single pole in the middle so I can put the top down and play "ring-toss". Honestly, I still can't believe my eyes. Just unbelievable! ------------------ Tyson Schmidt 72 911 Cabriolet 92 C-2 Cabriolet |
I think I like this one the best, it protects the dash...

Sadly, many of those bars are true killers, one of the reasons you don't want a rollcage in your daily driver is a small 30 mph side impact will smack your head into a roll cage and could kill you. In a race car, you have heavy padding, a helmet and a 5 pt harness.

Don't let Leland see this or it will stall the P-motor for another month! While he upgrades the his rice rocket to current specs.

Randy, you have no idea.
I was in Tacoma last weekend and I found this mid-eighties Nissan Stanza for sale... window sticker said $200 obo. I sat there for about 10 minutes trying to figure out how the hell I'd get it home. There are plans in the works for a Pimpster II. Muhahahahahahaha ha!!!!! |
