915 shifter ???
why does some 915 shifter has this bottom plate and some don't? Is this a short shifter part or something? TIA

Yes, that's an old short shifter kit. The bottom of the lever will have been lengthened a similar amount.

Yes, some aftermarket short shifters do have a spacer plate like that. The factory short shift kit does not, however.

OK thanks guys, I have a short shift without that spacer. Im assuming I have the OEM SSK. I notice on mine when bolted down to the frame. The shifter has a tendency to flex the floor a little and thought the spacer was used to stiffen the floor up some. Aside frome the Seine, can you tell if this SSK is OEM or after market.

I can't tell anything about that shifter from your photo, apart from the fact that it has been modified. You can disassemble it and measure a couple of things and figure it out, if you want to. There were essentially three different shifters in that era. The travel was different from one to the next. If you do a search, you can probably find the details. I know I've written about the differences in the past, as have other people.
