Pelican Forum Pages take forever to load

Does anyone else have problems with the pages taking forever to load on this forum. It seems to happen almost every time I am on the forum. Many times they won't load at all and simply lock up. it's not my computer because I don't have any problems with any other web pages.

Noticed it a little bit yesterday and a couple of times today. I'm accessing from my iPad FWIW.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

It doesn't happen with any other websites, not even High Def video so I know it's not my computer or video card. It's not something new either, it's been going on for many months.

It started yesterday, sometimes the PP server took 20-30 seconds to respond to a page request. (Laptop Win7 x64). Maybe something needs a reboot on the server.....

I think I remember a while back Wayne saying something about using a cache or content distribution service to speed up the service for users scattered around the country and the world. It could be that the service is having a problem. That would explain why some users are affected and not others -- not everyone is accessing the same server hosting the content. Could be lots of other things too. Not nearly enough data to say at this point... In order to effectively troubleshoot you'd have to find the common link.

I also wonder about this sometimes, but have a feeling that maybe the queries that run on the backend that make this site work might not be as efficient as they could be.

Quite a bit of data to parse through.

The site sucked yesterday, most of it seems to be fixed today.

Still a little buggie.
