MC Reservoir Top Cap Cover
Has anyone found a source for the master cylinder reservoir top cap cover? I've search this forum, and some people have asked the same question over the years, but nothing recent (with a couple of years).
Our host has a catalog number, but NLA. ![]() Here is the part I'm looking for: Pelican Parts - Product Information: PEL-PP903128 Has anyone tried to repro this? With today's 3-D printers, this should be a simple task, which I don't mind undertaking, but I didn't want to start something that someone had already started. I've looked around at cars on display, and everyone seems to be missing theirs, but maybe they don't know they're missing. I know I didn't! :dunno: Thoughts?

I've heard some BMW's share the same cap. Best advice is take you cap to a u-pull it place and look for a match.

I am looking for the top *COVER*. See the link above, as our host has the part as NLA. I don't think I've seen this cover in the yard (as I have an E28 BMW also).
I've read that the cover was also used on the 914, but I could be confused with something else.

Probably more trouble than it's worth, but you could try the dismantlers [i.e. parts heaven - CA, dcauto - NC, LA dismantlers - CA, Miami - FL, etc].
The 3-D printer option sounds interesting. |

I believe those dust covers were an aftermarket item offered years ago by automotion/tweaks/performaceproducts etc.
Not a Genuine Porsche part. I picked one up in the '90s for my 914. The production run probably finally sold out so no more stock. Another tip off is the part #, not a Porsche part # My $.02 without looking at PET :-) Cooper |

Thanks for the update, Cooper.
I think I'm going to try my hand at a 3-D printer version and see what happens. Thanks again!

Very cool that you want to 3D print.
One thing that makes the cover a little more user friendly is to make the small hole in the side (for brake fluid overflow tubing) a small radiused notch instead. The hole requires having to disconnect the drain tube to remove cover. A notch makes removal a little smoother. C |
