Not 911, but need help
OK, so my wife's Audi A6 was hit on the passenger side rear door. Pic is below (best I have given snow/salt here).
Quick opinion: does this dent look it might be able to be pulled out? No damage to door handle. thanks.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1388940562.jpg |
Really hard to tell with all of the road spray on there...
*looks* pretty close to the edge of the door. That area can be tough to work due to sheetmetal layers. Also looks like the dent is a long crease. Creases are also a challenge to work depending on how sharp/deep they are. I would at least have a PDR guy take a look at it before going to the body shop. Body shop will paint door and at a minimum blend into the rear quarter panel. Likely $1,200.00 range... Bummer. Cooper |
thanks. what's a "PRD" guy?

(paintless dent removal)

Perhaps drive it a bit more so it gets real dirty and trade it in on a new one - they will likely miss the dent and you have a new car

Find a friend at an upscale 'buy here pay here' used car place and ask them who they use for PDR. I just had a deep 4" long dent pulled out of my 911 door and I am not kidding, you cannot tell the door was ever hit. I am as happy as a dozen clams (steamed). He only asked for $100, I gave him $120. He spent just under an hour on it.

Can you wipe it off and position the camera so it looks along the door - into a light for reflection - so the depth can be judged? Also, confirm if the pain is scratched. If scratched, how deep? |
