mystery trunk release part
 

Hi all,
Pulled the release handle for the trunk ("boot", in these parts) and this thin, spring-steel part leapt out onto the floor. I can't see anywhere on or around the T-handle (under the dash) that it belongs, or anything resembling it in the PET parts diagram. Measurement, as you see, is 23mm long, or just a shade under an inch. Any ideas? Car's a 1989 3.2 coupe.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1389153858.jpg

Looks like one of the spring mounting tabs from a dash vent

There are two that sit on the top of the vent to hold it in place!

Man, you guys are good! Thanks for the quick response. Yep, I can even see the two clips atop the vents in the PET diagram. I've figured out exactly where to put it: in a zip-loc bag, in the glovebox...
