removing rear bumper?

Probably a dumb question. I have heard that removing the rear bumper is an easy process, but we just can not figure it out. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. Funny, I had no problems getting the heat exchangers off, which I was sweating. Now, what I thought would be the easy part is stumping me. Thanks for any help.

On my 78, should be the same, I unbolted the bumper shock (1 nut per side) and the "C" clamps holding the bumper shock - (2 bolts per side). You also have to disconnect the license plate wiring. It will just then pull out.

Porsche Crest I THINK this is how:

It's been a looong time since I removed a rear bumper, but I think that if you remove the rear deco trim (rubber strips on either side of the big bumperettes), you will reveal the bumper shock nuts. This way, you leave the impact shocks on the car. You will also have to remove the rear fender extensions/bellows, and disconnect the plate light wiring as mentioned. Then it should slide right off.
