Backdating an update

Hey guys,

New here and already took a few sips from the fountain of information found here but still a bit thirsty. I'm looking to backdate a 73' that was unfortunately updated to a 930 turbo look with steel fenders back to into a 73' wide body. I would like to retain the steel fenders. By these pics can someone please guess what the previous owner did to the car? From my guess it looks like the nose was not clipped from the shock tower forward but the all supports were replaced. Lateral/gas/latch/shock towers/etc. What puzzles me most is that vin still reads as a 73'. A bit confused here. Let me know what you guys think.

My thoughts exactly, but the vin under the hood reads 9113102226

look under the dash below the radio for the chassis ID, that should confirm if it's indeed a 73. If so, then it was some patchwork rust repair. It's never going to be original so fix it up and enjoy it.
