Question about Bilsteins

I bought my car new in '81 and specced the Bilstein shocks. It seems to me from reading on this forum that there ar Bilstein Sport and Bilstein HD shocks for our cars. Which came on my car OEM and how do the two types differ?

the difference between hd and sport is in the valving

sport will have the stiffest valving

both use old school linear valveing w/ tends to be stiff and jaring at low speed on small bumps

I know that turbos came w/ hd, and assume that the same shocks were used as the optional shocks on a 911

your best way to go is to have you current set rebuilt w/ digressive valving and rates calibrated to your springs and weight, digressive valves give a far suppler ride at low speed put really work when speeds go up
