Replacing a 1/4 panel questions

Hi All,
Thanks for the wealth of info on this site.

I need to replace a rear 1/4 panel on a SWB 66 912.

I'm currently looking for a replacement. Can I use a LWB car or do I need a 67 or older donor car?

Thank you,
CK

LWB has a slight fender flare whereas the swb do not

The LWB rear fenders are completely different, since the rear wheel was moved rearward to lengthen the wheelbase in the '69 and newer cars. Compare the position of the torsion bar hole in a SWB car to a later car.

Thanks guys.

Is a LWB car anything 69 and after or 68 and after?

'69 was the first year of the LWB cars.

SWB also has different tail light buckets. There are enough differences, that you should try and source the correct quarter panel.

I just bought a pair of new quarters for my 68. I got them from eilmaig? - not sure on the spelling. Pelican does not have them listed so I don't think I'm stepping on toes. I bought targa panels because the coupe version is more expensive and I did not need the quarter window area anyway. They are pricey but there is no way around it if they are in need if replacement.
