I'm adding flares to my car and talked to my body guy about the 3m glue. He's been adding flares to Porsches for years and is very skeptical of the glue. I'm going for the welding. At leas with welding there's no chance of the weld breaking down and separating!

Very few flares are getting welded on these days. Most are using the 3M stuff, or Zotz fasteners. I have had 3 cars updated to turbo look with the 3M stuff. I have seen many welded ones crack or split, never a bonded one. When I first put them on, I was a little skeptical also, but after raising the car by way of a jack and block of wood under the lip of the flare,(before paint). I'm convinced. This car had it done about 6 years ago, and after many drivers eds, auto x, and club races, not the slightest "ripple".
