Hound's Tooth is In!

I wanted a little something to spice up the interior in my 77 street/track car so my girlfriend applied her mad sewing skills to recover my sparcos in hounds tooth. Next is the black RS carpet set and door panels to complete the interior.

Thanks, she spent quite a bit more time on these than we expected so not sure she's willing to do another set just yet I have to take her out to dinner first then I'll ask

Local fabric store by the yard. Material is pretty thick and could be intended for furniture so should wear pretty well. Cost about $40

Did she remove the original seat panel fabric, use it as a pattern to cut the new material and then sew the new panel in its place preserving the rest of the original material? She did a great job!

Looks awesome, but that woukdnt work in my track car. The brown spot I created lifting off in the midst of turn 4 at Mosport would show....

She sewed the new material over the existing intact cushions. The cushions are affixed to the seat with Velcro strips so rather than remove (and destroy) the old covering and install new Velcro, she covered only the fronts of the cushions wrapping the new material around the sides. This kept the cushions from being too bulky, preserved the Velcro strips and saved material. This has the added benefit of being able to remove, change or replace the outer covering at a later time.

Nice, like that is is a big HT pattern, haven't seen that before. I think its time to consider an RS carpet package to complete the look.

Good skills. Not her, you. I really like the idea of getting something done so professionally for free - or the price of dinner

I wouldn't trust my GF with a project like that. She recently confessed she doesn't like the 911
