1978 911SC Targa Rear Bumper Guards
I would like to replace the rear original bumper guards with the European style if they will fit the bumper. Does anyone have experience with replacing their bumper guards?

If you keep your US bumper, after the swap you will have holes that you may wish to plug. The other option is to purchase a US '74 bumper, or a euro bumper with the proper mounting holes for the euro style rubber guards (AKA bumperettes).

You have to drill new mounting holes and weld the old holes closed, then paint the bumper. If you buy the bumper guards, you need the early ones, with a 911 part number, not the later ones with a 930 part number.
