Horn Opinions

Hi All -
Last night I finally traced down the issue with the horns on my 77. I had a frayed ground and a relay that was on it's last legs. Other than having one dead horn, everything is back to the way it should be.

When I started this process I found that the actual horns were very poorly attached to a make shift bracket due to the carrera oil cooler install. This, combined with wanting to make sure that my cooler/3.2 gets all the airflow it can, I decided to relocate the horns. Unfortunately I cant find anywhere easy to mount them!

I have an all in one, 2 tone air horn left over from my 914-6 conversion. It sounds extremely close to stock, but it is louder. The whole unit is about the size of my hand. I am thinking of mounting it in the front trunk using an existing hole that is very close to the existing horn wiring (so no mods to the car/wiring at all, except pulling the wires back into the the front trunk). It would basically be located down close to where the jack/tool roll lives on the passenger side.

Is this too cheesy?

Inside of the trunk?

I don't think the sound can get out very effectively.

How about a picture of the horn, with some idea of its actual size?

I bought PIAA 2 tone horns and mounted them directly to the existing bracket (removed each "arm" that came off the bracket to each old horn). Leaves for very little in front of the cooler and it's up basically just below the headlight.
