Cold engine idle level (911 SC '79)
Hello!
I allow myself to open a fresh thread, ... a) due to my recent injection refurbishment (and sealing the oily trinity) on my 79 SC (930.06) with regular K-Jet and... b) because I did not quite find what I thaught what might be the answer... Well, all work has been done to seal up the bugger and the engine was at the shop to be regulated. Phenomenon now is, that it runs cold fairly high, at 2100rpm to drop to about 950rpm in aprox. max. 2 minutes (outside temp is 2-5 °C). Before ist run up to 1900rpm to drop to 900rpm (same ignition parts quality, same airfilter, all recently new). Next to all seals, I cleaned the throttle and the little drills, cleaned the extra-air-valve, cleaned the air-mass-regulator, new underpressure hoses (correctly fitted) and made a thorough air-leek check (especially because I did seperate the airbox halves [and reglued]). All OK (aparently). Now the questions are: - did I or the shop miss something? - should I just re-regulate the engine as I've been driving some miles now? Thanks for your ideas/assitance!

sounds normal. they probably just adjusted the idle slightly. you can do it with a screwdriver.

I guess I have tu turn it clockwise (screw in) to reduce airflow, right?

Yes and if it doesnt give you what you want you might have to lean out or richen up the fuel distributor.
You might have to check the response of the air bypass valve. Bruce |
