Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo

I fell into a Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio yesterday for my early car. The radio originally came out of a 73 targa. When I looked at the back, I found 2 sets of audio out. Looked in the front, and it says stereo on it. I always thought the early cars came w/ a mono Frankfurt...

So, did the longhoods come from the factory or dealers w/ a sterero version of the Blaupunkt Frankfurt stereo 2 speakers installed? If so, where were the speakers located?

Did a search and found nothing solid on this subject. Any help appreciated.

I bought a 73 Frankfurt US spec radio and it was Stereo. The car only came with 1 dash speaker from the factory. Maybe Blaupunkt introduced Stereo after Porsche had started production of 1973.
The doors do have appropriate speaker holes but you'll need to do the door cards/

A former owner of my '73 911T installed speakers in the doors behind the original door panels. Since the panels were pretty well shot I scrapped them and installed RS type panels from Pelican to complement the ducktail and RS front bumper. The RS panels had no provision for a speaker grill so my upholsterer had this device that cleanly punched an array of holes in the panel to match the speaker. BTW, the speakers on the doors are located on the leading edge at the bottom.

Don't know if any of this will help you but it's all I know!!! Someday I'd like to find a retro radio.

It's all your fault pitargue!!! I just found a 70s Blaupunkt Frankfurt radio on eBay that will fit a vintage 911 for $224.50 shipped from a 100% satisfaction seller. Supposed to be in great shape and looked good from 12 photos.
