Soft Oil Lines to Front Cooler and Gasket Questions
Which line goes left and which goes right on the front cooler? I have the brand new "short" and "long" ones (parts 11A, return and 12A, pressure) that I want to connect to the front cooler before installing the cooler, and I want to make sure I get that right.
I had to destroy my leaky ones upon disassembly so I don't have that reference. Also do you guys use any "glue" or liquid gasket of any sort to install and keep in place the gasket that goes around the cooler? (Part 31) My gasket is reusable but tends to fight me and comes off easily. TIA:)http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1391201387.jpg |
OEM brass oil lines orientation.........
Zippy,
Looking from the passenger side from fender, the longer oil line sits outside (outer) and the short metal line sits inside (inner). Thus the shorter flex oil line goes between the longer metal oil line and the outer fitting of the auxiliary cooler. So, the longer flex oil goes to the other line (shorter) and inner fitting on the cooler. Some small amount of rubber cement could be used with old trim gasket. A new trim seems to stay steady without adhesive plus the inner fender well wall keeps it from moving out. Tony |
Thanks Tony.
I am re-using the gasket because the new one is $91... I have cement so I am good to go! |
