Back in time....
Not to get off the 930 trail, but yes Todd you're reality check is correct. Starting up that "flat six" that we sit in front of, is still as exciting today as it was 500,000 miles ago...

The difference between 3500 and 35,000 is not THAT great, (if treated w/ kid gloves), these cars are made to last 30+ years or 300,000 miles, whichever comes first. Sometimes longer. At 3500 miles, if stored properly, it should be BRAND NEW inside, including smell. ZERO wear on seat bolsters, (where your butt rubs when entering or exiting), carpet on driver's floor around pedals like brand new, etc.
$40,000 is certainly not out of line for a (basically) brand new 930, I myself would rather pay thousands less for one with moderately low miles and great records, maybe even a desirable upgrade or two. These cars are VERY easily upgraded, performance and drivability-wise. All it takes is money. ;) As others may have pointed out, if you plan on driving it, it will have normal miles soon. The great majority of 930's have low miles, they were usually purchased as 2nd, 3rd, or 4th cars by very rich guys. |
