Carpet Glue removal
While installing new carpet, I got 3M 77 spray glue on some of the new carpet.
Does anyone know the best technique to remove the glue without ruining the carpet?

have you tried mineral spirits on a clean piece of tee shirt? Laquer thinner would most likely work if the MS won't cut it. I would test it on some scrap carpeting first of course.

I'd start with 3M adhesive remover.

This is in a spray can if I remember correctly. I really liked that stuff.

I'm halfway through a carpet install. Do you have a thread on yours?

Ayles, I don't have a thread on it--however, I was using the AppBiz carpet for cabriolets and I found a set of Youtube videos that were really helpful.
If you search for Lakewell Porsche Carpet Installation, it will pull up a set of three videos on how to do it. Some of the video is dark and in one segment, the installer speaks in French, but I was able to watch what he did and follow along. Some tips: You will have to trim carpet here and there, so have sharp scissors and a set of utility blades. They dull quickly--I went through about 10 razors on mine. When spraying the glue, wear disposable rubber gloves so your fingers don't get sticky. Get a box of 100 because you will pull them off and get new ones frequently. To mark holes in the carpet for screws, bolts, etc. I used a small punch. I first poked it through a piece of masking tape and slid the masking tape up near the handle of the punch. Then, I poked the hole through the carpet, then slid the tape down onto the carpet. That way, I could always tell where the hole in the carpet was. Otherwise, I lost it almost immediately.

Back on topic, I tried paint thinner and a t-shirt like Wolds suggested and with just a little scrubbing, the glue came right off and didn't damage the carpet at all.
I even did it in time to cancel my Amazon order!

better tip - wear two pairs of gloves so when you need to do something else you can just remove one of them and keep working.
