Unknown Noise any ideas...
I am getting a RaaRaaaRaaRaaR type of noise.
This noise is present on Acceleration on Deceleration. It is present coasting it is present with the engine off and coasting. I thought possible tranmission but I thought that would be more of a whine or clunking.. If I turn left or right the nosie does not go away as the load shifts for left to right. At below 8 or 10 miles per hour it is gone. I jacked up all the wheels and they all spin freely with no noise. The rear hub bearings are Brand new and torqued tight and feel smooth when spun by hand. I am wondering if this is Tire noise... I upgraded to a 911 SC front end and need and alignment. Could this be the front tires plowing down the road instead of being straight. Any ideas... The tires are Nitos and came with the Fuchs I purcahsed they are a little oversized for the car but I checked inner and outer Fender wells and no rubbing apperent. This is on my 914/6..... Thanks ------------------

Hello
Just what flashes up: Check your handbrakecables and on G50 cars if the electric speedo cable is touched by the CV bolts. Tire noise do change on different pavment so try to find a sand road who kills most typical tire noises. Also try if using your handbrake will change the noise. Grüsse |
Thanks for the ideas Ronald.
Something I found out tonight is if I roll backwards down a hill with the engine off in Nuteral there is no noise. Roll Forward down the same hill and the noise is present. ------------------
