Removing CIS tips

I am trying to remove my entire CIS system in one piece...is that possible?

the only problematic manifold bolts look like cyl 5 and 6...

has anyone done this...any tips? I don't want to take apart all my fuel injection stuff....

thanks

MJ

I think you are asking if the intake runners can remain connected to the airbox while the assembly is being removed. Yes they can.

I have done this, and put it all back together as a unit. No special tips for you, some of the bolts are hard to reach but all are doable.

It's a snap...when the motor is out of the car.
I saw it removed in one piece (at Superman's engine drop clinic) with my own eyes.
When it's sitting on the work bench, it looks like a big insect. A real big insect!

well the engine is on the ground...

and it is 2 pesky bolts...I think it is doable with the right extensions and such....

but I've given up for the night...will finish tomorrow

Make sure you account for every nut and washer BEFORE you start to lift the runners off!!!!

It was'nt fun fishing the one washer I missed out of cyl number4 with the engine still in my car!!

It's much easier to do if you do a partial engine drop by removing the rear engine mounting bolts and lowering the engine about 6".
