I’m converting my existing ’81 knee pads, vents and fascia plate to one on a ’86 (bigger vents). I have all the parts except for maybe two. Is there a piece that covers the vents on the outer portion? Or is the vent exposed without any cover? Someone might be able to help me if they have an ’86 – ’93. Pictures would be great!

the square outer vents slip into a square frame. the outer sides are covered by a triange black plastic piece held on with one screw. i converted a 73 dash to the 87 type. i went to the porsche boneyard and cut the square areas out of a wreck and welded them in. on mine, i had to weld in the glove box lock receiver hole, being the later ones are on the left.

Thanks JW. Looks like this project will be delayed until I make a trip to a P junk yard. Any pics by the way?

Schubee, I posted a similar subject yesterday, could you tell me what you found and what you have seen so far...
John, what did you cut and weld back in??? I'm also looking at replacing the dash and considering upgrading those vents also, since the dash would be out...any ideas |
