83 SC Oil Tank leak Fix
I have an SC. It appears that there is a leak from the oil tank sending unit gasket. Of course, after cleaning it up and tightening the bolts, it got worse. I have a new gasket. My experience with working on a 73 911 tells me that there is no way to remove the sending unit to replace gasket without removing oil tank. Are there any tricks that you have to enlighten me?

Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

I remember reading a post about that type of repair. However, I did just find this post that might help you out. It deals with the seal and overhaul of the OSU. Good luck.
Copy the following post title and paste it in the search box. It should pop right up. Oil Level Sending Unit: How to Service / Repair / Maintain

You can pull the SC sending unit because there is more room with the flair.
Remember, it has to be spun while removing it from the tank. Bruce |
