Gauges faded needle color?

If anyone can post some pictures of a pristine non faded oil level gauge that would help me on my way to fixing the rest of my gauges.

So I am going to go through clean and repaint all the gauge needles as they are horribly faded.
Low oil level color does not seem to have faded. Or was this a true red, vs the flourcent orange/red that the needles seem to have been

So very close to a good match.

Have been testing color match against a good condition vintage VDO gauge as it doesn't appear faded.

UV LED to test how flourcent the color match is
As per usual I have gone down the rabbit hole.

SC gauge — it’s a bright orange, vs the red bars on the gauge face itself:

Ok so oil level bar is red, what about redline on the tachometer?
My tachometer "redline" seems to have faded like the needle.

You can put some clea wing on. The gauges too, or your car’s windows. It blocks all the UV (fades the interior and needle paint) and block the IR (heat) to make the car cooler. Just an idea. I like the 3m Crystaline PR70….leaves windows very clear and make a huge difference in heat.

reclino, After all your color match work, what paint brand/color is the best match (or color-code)? Just wondering in case I need to refresh my gauge needles someday.

What do you mean by “clea wing”? I know it’s a typo but I still can’t decipher it.

They meant to write “clear film” - the 3M stuff mentioned is an example.

Sounds like a solid project, repainting the needles will really freshen things up. Hopefully someone can share a clean reference gauge so you can nail the correct color.

I concur with @PFNog on the Testor's model paint, though I used FS28915 (fluorescent red), not FS28913 (fluorescent red orange).
