Turbo Tail Mounting Hardware
Pelican no longer sells the mounting hardware kit to mount a turbo tail to deck lid. I called Auto Atlanta and was told to look at a parts diagram and call back when I knew what part numbers I needed. Since I can't find these part numbers I am here asking if anyone can give me a complete, or as close to complete as possible, list of what hardware I will need to mount a 930 turbo tail to a stock 911 SC deck lid. I found the rubber base seal. But there are a couple threaded tinnerman devices on the turbo tail that are missing and some small bolt holes on the sides and threaded ones at the top and bottom. I can figure thread size and come up with the bolts for the top and bottom fairly easily, but the threaded tinnermans and the smaller holes along the sides of the mounting base???

man...I didn't think this one would stump you guys ha.

Doesn't the 5 turbo wing brackets align with the decklid's molds on the top (nearest the cab)? Lining these up pretty much aligned the tail properly on the lid. Drill out the bottom and used cap screws and nylocs to wrap up mounting to the decklid

Do you already have the tail? If not, I'm on the south side of ATL and am looking for someone wanting to do an even trade for my turbo tail and their ducktail. I'd include the decklid from my car if the duck/lid was a one piece.
I can try to take some pictures of the tail and hardware during the daylight for you tomorrow. Mine will need some repair on the rubber which should be relatively easy. |

Sorry, I did not have any daylight while at the house today to get pictures. Work ended up being much longer than expected. I will try to get some tomorrow, or as soon as I can be home while the Sun's out. My garage lighting will probably not suffice. If you ever find yourself on the south side of Atlanta, shoot me a PM. I've been trying to put together some local contacts in the Porsche realm since I got here in November. |
Really not sure if these are going to be helpful. Even with a bit of sunlight, it was difficult to get any detail in the pictures.
