Looked at a 991 today

Local dealer had an unveiling party for the 991 today. Good food.

Like a Cayman, you can no longer see the engine. It has a rear service area for adding oil and water.

An oil change requires the removal of the giant plastic rear bumper cover. Service guy said an oil change would take 3 hours.

$US111,000

$111,000 is a lot for an oil change.

Next week, I'm taking Veronica up to the Trump Intl. Golf Club. I got invited by Braman Porsche in Palm Beach to help them introduce the 2012 911. They will be parked together. They sent a guy down to take photos and videotape the car and interview me. Should be fun; it was supposed to be last evening, but it got postponed due to the rain. I had even put a tie on!

Our PCA region had an unveiling last week at a dealership. I really liked the car but I won't live long enough for the used price to be affordable to me. Remove the rear bumper cover to change the oil???? What happened to form follows function?

the bumper does not have to be removed it has covers next to the oil fill that can be removed to access the oil filter.

Any thoughts on pros/cons of the Porsche pre paid maintenance schedule? $2850 for scheduled maintenance for 5 yrs/50K miles.
