Need yr good advice
will purchase a new 996 cab. Can anybody tell me if the sport seats with better lateral support are worth the investment or shall I stick to the standard seats ? Cheers to all ![]() ------------------ Beat 993 Cab [This message has been edited by Beat911 (edited 09-08-2001).] |

The good and bad of sportseats is talked about here; http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/Forum3/HTML/012166.html
. . .mostly, if you fit in the seat well, the extra side support of the sportseats makes drive the porsche much more enjoyable. Aside: your profile says you are from Milano, Italy. I will be traveling Northern Italy soon. Do you happen to know of any sources for aircooled porsche rentals? '81 Platinum Metalic SC COUPE |

Porsche really "watered down" the sport seats with the water-pumper cars (pun intended).
I rode in an instructor's 996 C2 cab at Willow Springs earlier this year. After a few laps I told him (very nicely) "you really should've sprung for the sport seats" He said...these ARE the sport seats. On the track, they didn't hold me in at all. This car didn't have 5-points either, and I was hanging on for dear life with one arm clamped to the door and both legs bracing hard against the floorboards. Sooo, I'd get the sport seats anyway, but don't expect miracles. Cheers ------------------ Chris C. 73 914 2.0 70 911E Targa campbell.chris@gte.net |
