Bought my first 911
Thanks to Pelican who has awesome articles and cool people talking about Porsches. I can say that I finally reach my dream and I bought my first Porsche.
I always been in love with these cars, I used to drive VW and for me Porsche was something out of this world. Here in Pelican I researched a lot of comments and at the beginning I was looking a 993. After reading articles here and also reading books (Porsche 911 performance handbook 1963-1998), I decided to buy 1987-89 carrera. I probably was on the hunt for more than 6 months. I saw several on ebay and here, but it was not easy. Ebay the prices were very expensive and here, by the time I was making an offer the car was sold. It was December when I saw on ebay the car. It was red, nice color, and awesome white interior. It was 1989 the last of the G series. In terms of timing, it was horrible because it was Christmas and I was on vacations out of the country. It was listed in ebay and I knew that if I did not make an offer I would loose it. I was really desperate to get the car. The car was on a dealership in Miami - Vertex. I called them and the sale associate (Alvaro), gave me an excellent service. He described the car and gave me a lot of confident. I made arrangement with him, in terms that if I win the auction, I will make the payment once I returned to the US. I got the car two weeks ago and it had some issues with the turn signals (Probably the transporter cause them). I called Alvaro he made arrangements with a shop here in Dallas - MAYO Performance (awesome place, it is like porsche heaven).I took the car there and they replaced the switch. After that I took the car to inspection and its ready to roll! Thank you to : - Pelican to promote a very awesome car. - Vertex for the awesome customer service. The arrangement they did, by taking care of fixing the car after they sold it. (and putting me in contact with MAYO). - And Mayo for fixing my car. (and yes MAYO, I will not do the slantnose convertion. I will keep it original). links of the car: 1989 Used Porsche 911 Carrera at Vertex Auto Serving Miami, FL, IID 11466304 |

Great looking car.
The colour combo is interesting... I haven't seen a white interior like that in a while. It also looks very original and unmolested. That's always a good thing.

Good advice. That "small grind going into third" needs to be looked at.

Very nice, I like the white interior. And the price seems fair also.

Welcome
Hi
Welcome I just looked through the photos of the car in the attached link and noticed in one photo that shows the paint code, there seems to be some panel damage. Have a very close look at the area and see what you think.
