Amber fog lenses more effective?
Wondering if the amber fog light option for SC's is any more effective than the regular clear lenses? I'm thinking to switch for practical reasons and would like to know if anyone is currently using them.
Thanks, Markus

I have them. I think they're supposed to be a bit more effective but I doubt anyone but a rally driver could tell the difference.

While there may be differemces between individual's visual accuity and spectral response that would render them not so effective for some individuals ... the amber lenses are very close to the peak spectral response shade that Pickett used in the 'ES' series of slide rules in the '50s and '60s! That makes me believe that in the low-contrast situation of fog ... anything that helps or optimzes the reflected image seems like a good idea!

They are a bit better in the contrast department, but at the expense of slightly lower total output (brightness).
