I have a custom fit WeatherShield HP from CoverCraft. Only had it for a year, but it appears to do a decent job so far. However, fitment is poor and CoverCraft's customer service didn't do anything to help solve the problem... Definitely not doing business with them ever again. Will probably give CoverKing a shot once this one is worn out...

I've purchased a number of WeatherShield HD car covers by Cover King.
They've all fitted great & has held up very well.

I researched and went with a WeatherShield HP. Fit very well and held up. I believe they have a 'no seam' model that prevents scratching when the wind blows, etc. Never blew off, and i didn't even use a cable / lock on the grommets around the bottom. It was custom cut for a cabriolet Turbo Look car and I don't believe there was a surcharge for the custom cut either.

You can judge by yourself. Keep in mind this is a 300$ + "custom fit" car cover:

Water tends to accumulate between the headlights. The cover sags a lot in the back and strong winds will pull it up and off the car from that area.

My car is a completely original 1989 930. Well, according to CoverCraft, this is what a stock 1989 930 should look like (not my car, this is a picture they sent me):

CoverCraft claims the cover doesn't fit properly because my car doesn't have the front bumper shown in the picture above! I was never aware that Porsche sold this car with an IROC style front bumper... Still, even if I did have this front bumper, I'm not sure how this would fix the poor fit in the back.

They offered to ship me another cover, at my expense, but with no guarantee that the fit would be any better. Afterwards, I would have to ship back the other cover, also at my expense. I'm located in Canada. The back and forth shipping would have cost me at least another 100$. I just got tired of arguing with CoverCraft and decided to live with it until it needs to be replaced...

Hmm...mine fit much better and was the Turbo (930) body (no IROC bumper)...I'd say the front fit about the same, but the mirrors and rear fit MUCH better...more like the tautness of the front...mine was a cabriolet, but had the tea tray as well...

Paddict, I wonder if you got a bad one... not sure if yours was the same model cover, but it shouldn't make a difference I wouldn't think...?

I don't recall if they had different models for cabs and coupes... Maybe I did get a bad one, but CoverCraft would not acknowledge that and could not guarantee that the fit would be better if they shipped me another one.

You should ship it back to them and ask them to put it on that IROC bumpered car to test the fit, and if it doesn't, they pay for replacement/shipping My guess is that they don't even have that car to even test fit it...and I guarantee with the tautness of the front on your car, it wouldn't fit, front or back. Or, I'd send them 10 stock 930 Porsche photos in return... its an odd reply that they said it doesn't fit b/c of the front bumper anyhow...it's the rear that doesn't look like it fits well. (maybe their point is that it would move the whole cover forward with that IROC bumper on it?! Wish I had photos of mine to send you...don't have that car any longer (but I do have the cover).

Is this the OEM cover referred to from our host? Is it better than the Covercraft?

it helps with acorns yes but I sometimes put a packing carport over the top during serious acorn drop time from the big red oak above me... I have a carport up now but it has to be removed, so back to cover only soon

My $40 Car cover from Costco fits about the same, without mirror cutouts.

I had one for the acorns too, but the snow got the better of it, and it collapsed on my car. Body work in the offing.

Any comparisons between Cover Craft and Cover King?
