Paint Color Question
 

A friend of mine has an '88 Carrera with a very unusual color on it. Although it looks a little purplish to me the color is called "Cassis Red Metallic." (I have the codes too, but not accessible at the moment)

Ever seen/ heard of that one before? I can't find it listed in any of the regular places and searching for it brings that name up for a bunch of newer jap cars.

Very unusual color. He's had it from new.

Standard Porsche color. Rare, but not the only one painted that color. Not my favorite color...

I have a cassis red coupe and I saw one at the Rolex 24 in the Porsche paddock. Both are '87 with burgundy interior and had come from the same dealer in Chicago Ill. It looks brown at nite and either purple or pink in the sunlight.

I dig the odd colors. -J

My friend's car does look a little fru-fru; very light beige interior, Targa too.
