Alternator identification 2.7

I have this alternator, it has no part numbers or name anywhere. It is a deep mount and has fine threads on the pulley end shaft. It came with a 2.7 core and IIRC it was a '76.

Just wondering what regulator this needs to work, how many amps is it and if this is a good unit. I can get it rebuilt if needed.
I had the brush holder off, the brushes look good and it spins smooth. Still couldn't see any ID markings...

I also have a '69 housing with a bosch 50amp and a regulator, if this is a better choice.
(But I'd still want to know the scoop on this one)

76 came with Marichal alternator, made in France. It should be stamped on the housing. The voltage regulator was also Marichal, springs and electromagnets inside, replaceable by a solid state VR from our host. I replaced mine with a Huco, made in Germany.

There is absolutely nothing stamped on the housing...where should this be stamped?
I'm totally guessing at the year because of the 911 it came off of and the whole 2.7 core it came with.

BTW I'm not a newbie at this game, I don't see a logo, I've even had the brush holder off looking for part numbers, etc.... ;)

My 75 also came with a Marchal. I think that's most likely what yours is as well.

That's what I'm thinking as well

This pic shows my bosch unit on the left and it clearly has the part # and name cast into it. On the right is the alternator in question
(BTW I do have two complete fan assemblies, 2 fans, one deep and one shallow housing)

I vote for a 70 Amp SEV Marchal

Thank you! that's it for sure!

So it is 70amp:cool:

Now I'll need a regulator, what's best? An external or can I get an internal reg?
